3-day Polio campaign successfully completed in Karachi

KARACHI: Director Health Karachi, Dr Zafar Ejaz on Monday said that anti-polio campaign has successfully been completed in 11 high-risk Union Councils of Karachi.

Dr Zafar explained that the drive had started on 15th November and ended on 18th November, and over 243,000 children were administrated polio vaccine during campaign. He said that the concerned authorities were trying their best to reach and cover all inaccessible areas of city. He hoped that the set vaccination target would be achieved before initiating the campaign on an on-going basis.

Commenting on the refusals reports from Landhi town, he said that refusal cases in high-risk UCs of Karachi are a major issue and the concerned authorities are trying their best to address it at the local level.
