AMTF; Facilitating Thalassemia Treatment Modalities

KARACHI- The Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) was recently visited by a delegation of CSR Club of Pakistan, to evaluate the services that have been provided by the foundation, absolutely free of charge, for children suffering from deadly blood disorders.


The treatment centre of Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) houses a maintained pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic X-Ray services, and all the health-related facilities used to manage Thalassemia.


While welcoming the delegation of CSR Club, Director AMTF, Mr. Atiq-ur-Rehman informed everyone about their trust, that has been working since 2003 to provide aid to suffering children.


He appealed the general public to generously donate blood, to facilitate treatment of children affected from different types of blood disorders.


He also urged to get one’s blood tested before getting married, in order to effectively prevent the cases of Thalassemia amongst the newborns.


Furthermore, he added that, proper awareness campaigns should be launched to make people aware about this deadly blood disease.


Speaking on the occasion, Chairman CSR Club, Mr. Naeem Qureshi appreciated the services of AMTF, saying that CSR Club would provide utmost cooperation to the future operations and services of the centre.


Mr. Mazhar Qasim, Dr. Ejaz, and other officials of AMTF also briefed the visitors about the functioning of Thalassemia treatment centre.
