KARACHI: The Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, recently stated that he would not tolerate any lethargic attitude towards the treatment of the workers.

He informed that the Sindh Labour Department had taken many initiatives to provide better health care and education facilities to them. He said this during a recent surprise visit to the Kulsoom Bai Valika Hospital. On this occasion, Baloch visited the Emergency Ward, CT Scan Ward, Paeds Ward, and others. He inspected the cleanliness situation there and asked the MS to take necessary measures to improve it.

He also reviewed the ongoing development work in the hospital. The Medical Superintendent briefed the minister regarding the ongoing development work. Baloch asked him to speed up the construction work and complete it at their earliest convenience.

During his visit, Baloch expressed his resentment towards male doctors and staff members for not wearing aprons and directed the MS to serve them with show cause notices.

He also asked the MS to give show cause notices to the store in charge, who reported delays in providing medicines to the patients. Baloch distributed ration among the patients who were admitted there as well.

While talking to them, he assured that the Sindh Labour Department would not leave any stone unturned in their treatment and they were working to provide the latest medical equipment to Social Security Hospitals.

“We are paying special attention, keeping in view the vision of Pakistan People’s Party, towards education, health and safety of the labourers," he concluded.
