‘Govt committed to provide healthcare facilities to masses’

FAISALABAD - Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the provincial government has allocated Rs 113 billion in the fiscal year budget 2016-17 for providing best possible healthcare facilities to the needy and poor people of the province.

Speaking at a ceremony held at Government General Hospital,Samanabad,arranged by Patient Welfare Society (PWS), he said that the hospital was being expanded from 50 beds to 250 beds and after completion of the project it would get the status of DHQ hospital. He said that all modern healthcare facilities would be ensured in the hospital with the cooperation of philanthropists.

He said that special measures were being taken for appointment of specialist doctors, availability of medicine and provision of all medical equipment at government hospitals.

The minister appreciated the performance of the hospital where treatment was being provided to people free-of-cost. He also lauded the role of PWS in the progress of the hospital.
