Regional Blood Transfusion Center (RBTC), Sukkur Opening Soon

Sukkur: The Regional Blood Transfusion Center, Sukkur, was constructed with financial and technical support German Government about one and half year ago. The centre is equipped with blood processing, screening, testing, component preparation and storage facilities.

Chairman, Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be the chief guest on the opening ceremony while  Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah, Health Minister Dr Sikander Mehandro,  Secretary Health  Dr Fazalullah  Pechuho, Sectary  Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA),  Dr Zahid Ansari and others will also attend the inaugural ceremony.

Secretary Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA),  Dr Zahid Ansari, said inauguration ceremony of Regional Blood Transfusion Center (RBTC), Sukkur would be held in Sukkur and blood bank  will run under public private partnership. He informed that RBTC Sukkur would be linked with seven hospital-based blood banks (HBBBs).

The newly built facility will have a storage capacity of 50,000 blood bags while three other regional blood transfusion centres would be made operational in a month under public private partnership.
