Dr Aziz Memon elected as Central President of PIMA for 2022-24

KARACHI: Members of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) elected Dr Abdul Aziz Memon from Sukkur as the central president of PIMA for the session 2022-24. 

He took the oath during the PIMA/FIMA International Scientific Convention at Jinnah Convention Centre.  

The Central President of PIMA is elected every two years by secret balloting. This year the election was done through e-balloting. Dr Abdul Aziz Memon did his graduation from Chandka Medical College Larkana in 1984 and then Diploma in Dermatology in 1989. He served as a consultant dermatologist at the civil hospital Sukkur from 1989 to 2018. He joined PIMA in 1994 and served on different responsibilities like President of PIMA Sindh and central general secretary. Members of the Central Executive Council were also elected in the same way; of the 39 members, 13 were selected from Punjab and Sindh, 9 from KPK, 2 from Azad Kashmir and 1 from Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan. All newly elected members also took oath on this occasion. 

Members from Punjab are Prof. Muhammad Tahir, Dr Tahir Azam, Dr Muhammad Saleem Ghauri, Dr Tariq Ismail, Prof. Intizar Hussain Butt, Dr Imran Zafar, Dr Muhammad Hamayun, Dr Irfanullah Malik, Dr Abdul Hafeez Kardar, Dr Iftikhar Burney, Dr Saad Hameed, Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Khan and Dr Fakhar ur Zaman. 

From Sindh: Dr Atif Hafeez Siddiqui, Dr Ahmad Salman Khan Ghauri, Dr Kashif Shazlee, Dr Syed Ahmer Hamid, Prof. Muhammad Azeemuddin, Prof. Abdullah Muttaqi, Dr Aurangzeb Rehbar, Dr Abdul Rashid Wahab, Dr Abdul Malik Sheikh, Dr Aziz ur Rehman, Dr Abdullah Khilji, Dr Gayas us Shan and Dr Shayan Shadmani. 

From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dr. Fakhar e Alam, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ashfaq, Dr. Fazle Azeem, Dr. Muhammad Asghar Khan, Dr. Kamran Hassan, Dr. Sajid Hanif, Dr. Muhammad Qasim and Dr. Samiullah Khan. 

From Baluchistan: Dr. Muhammad Saleem Baloch. 
From Azad Kashmir: Prof. Murtaza Bukhari and Dr. Aftab Mir 

From Gilgit Baltistan: Dr Abidullah 

The first meeting of CEC will be held in Islamabad on 19-20 November 2022
