Second phase of COVID-19 Pediatric Campaign begins

KARACHI: The second round of pediatric covid immunization efforts was undertaken in Karachi and Hyderabad from November 1 to November 7, 2022.

Just over 2.5 million youngsters between the ages of 1 and 11 will receive their second COVID-19 vaccine to guard against the virus.

The first phase of the pediatric covid immunization campaign began on September 19 and continued through September 24. 
The target population of children ages 5 to 11 was 2,388,719. The actual coverage was 2,518,312, or 105.3% of the target.

The second round of the Paediatric Covid Vaccination Campaign will concentrate on providing the second dosage of the vaccine to children who have already received the first dose of the paediatric covid vaccination.

The campaign would be conducted across Central, East, West, and South Karachi, Malir, Korangi, Kemari, and Hyderabad.

The same protocols and AEFI management structure will be implemented for the second round. There will be Technical Assistants who record the name, age, gender, Form-B ID of the vaccinated child / CNIC, and parent(s) contact information, as well as details of the vaccine consumed and other logistics used, on an Android phone Excel sheet.
