CM Punjab Hamza Shahbaz orders health dept to provide free medicines

LAHORE: Hamza Shahbaz, Chief Minister of Punjab, asked the Punjab health department to ensure that individuals in hospitals have access to free medicines in Lahore and all over Punjab.

As he presided over a meeting of the provincial health department in this city, the Hamza Shahbaz, Chief Minister of Punjab, said that the Punjab health card scheme would be continued going forward. 

He requested that department personnel make certain that the best possible healthcare facilities were supplied to the public in all medical facilities.

SOPs

He believed that the common man should be treated with total respect in hospitals. He also provided directions on ensuring that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed in response to the dengue virus were followed to the letter.

Chief Minister of Punjab

The Chief Minister of Punjab encouraged the people in charge to ensure that the acquisition of medicines was conducted in the most transparent manner possible. 

He also stated that he would be visiting hospitals in the coming days to observe how the officers and staff were performing their duties.

WASA Lahore

WASA was ordered to act on a war footing to deal with the situation after Hamza Shehbaz, Chief Minister of Punjab, became aware of the lack of water supplies in several portions of the city, particularly in the Walled City. 

The Chief Minister of Punjab, who was in attendance at the meeting, also directed the construction of a coordinated system to address the issue of water scarcity in these districts. His instructions were to put in generators to power tube wells in areas with a lack of water. In addition, Hamza asked the concerned personnel to guarantee that the drains in the province's capital were cleaned in advance of the monsoon season. 

After Eid-ul-Fitr, the Chief Minister of Punjab requested that the MD of WASA provide him with a full briefing on the progress made in this regard with the use of videos and that special teams be formed at the union council level to supervise the cleaning process. 

Hamza Shehbaz requested that the officials in charge develop a system for draining rainfall from the area. 
"Once the rainy season begins, I will not accept any excuses," he stated emphatically.

Punjab Police

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Punjab declared that the salaries of police officers of the Punjab Police who operate in jails would be increased. The Chief Minister of Punjab paid a visit to Kot Lakhpat Jail, where he helped establish an Islamic centre dedicated to the teachings of the Quran and Hadith. 

Hamza Shehbaz declared that the convicts' sentences would be reduced by two months and gave presents to the prisoners. Hamza Shehbaz stated that jail sepoys will now receive salaries on par with those of police sepoys when announcing the rise in their pay scale.

When Hamza Shehbaz was sworn in as Punjab's chief minister, President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik, expressed his hope that he would continue the policies of his father, Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, toe his footsteps in ensuring the welfare of the downtrodden, in addition to creating a conducive environment for boosting business activities and economic growth in the province.
 

In his statement, he expressed pride in the fact that for the first time in history, a father and son were democratically elected to the positions of prime minister and chief minister at the same time.

MNA meets with Chief Minister: Raja Riaz Ahmed, a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), paid a visit to Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz at his office.

They talked about the current political situation and topics of mutual interest. 

Raja Riaz expressed his congratulations to Hamza Shehbaz on his appointment to the position of the Chief Minister of Punjab. Hamza Shehbaz has requested a report from the Inspector General of Police (IG) about the recovery of the bodies of two toddlers in Mandi Bahauddin.

The Chief Minister of Punjab had expressed his sympathy to the lost heirs and promised them that justice would be served. Meanwhile, the police apprehended the children's uncle engaged in their murder and filed an FIR against him.
