SC to issue judgement on NA dissolution at 7:30 p.m

ISLAMABAD: A suo moto case involving the legitimacy of the deputy speaker's ruling and the president's subsequent dissolution of the National Assembly on the PM's suggestion has been reserved by the Supreme Court.

At 7:30 p.m., the decision will be made public.

Riot police were seen outside the Supreme Court building on television as heightened security was put in place ahead of the announcement of the decision.

Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, Justice Munib Akhtar, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail sat on a five-member bench under the leadership of CJP Bandial.

Bandial earlier stated that the April 3 verdict of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, which dismissed the no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan, was clearly incorrect.
