Importance of registering your clinic with Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC)

Healthcare Establishments (HCEs) in Sindh's public and private sectors are needed to get licenses from the SHCC. Failure to obtain a license under the SHCC ACT within the specified time frame may result in a fine of up to Rs. 500,000 or the closure of the Healthcare Establishment at the discretion of the SHCC.

Facilities That Require License Issued By SHCC

The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHC) is responsible for issuing licenses to HCEs under the SHC Act 2013 so that the HCE can legally operate. 

When we say Healthcare Establishment (HCE), what we mean is a healthcare facility.

Healthcare Facilities that require licenses are:  

• Health centre
• Dental Clinic
• Elderly care hospitals
• Therapy based on homoeopathy
• acupuncture centre
• Physiotherapy clinic

Or any building or vehicle used exclusively or mostly to deliver medical care. No Healthcare Establishment may provide public services without acquiring a valid license from the SHC. 

The primary goal of licensing is to ensure that the Sindh Service Delivery Standards (SSDS) are followed when providing medical treatment to the public. It specifies requirements that, if met, will allow a Healthcare Establishment to function and provide high-quality healthcare services to its patients.

SHCC License To Avoid Penalty and Severe Punishment

A healthcare facility's reputation, professional worth, clientele, and the quality of care it provides all benefit from its ability to operate legally as a safe and effective location, as demonstrated by a reduction in the frequency and severity of system failures. 

The personnel of Healthcare Establishments are protected from harassment, and the providers themselves are immune from legal action unless in cases covered under the SHCC Act of 2013.
