KARACHI- Young Nurses Association (YNA) Sindh has given a 13-days ultimatum to Sindh Health Department for fulfilling their demands regarding promotions; the nurses have warned the authorities about the looming province-wide protest movement from October 22, in case of failure.

President YNA Sindh Ajaz Ali Kelari said that the nurses in Sindh have been deprived of promotions under 4-tier formula, up-gradation and health professional allowance since last several years due to negligence by Sindh Health Department. He said that although Sindh government had constituted a committee for promotion of nurses, and the committee members had presented recommendations to Secretary Health Sindh, unfortunately, no progress was made in this regard, despite the passage of several months.

Ajaz Ali Kelari said that YNA Sindh will launch a province-wide protest from October 22nd in case their demands remain unfulfilled after the 13-days ultimatum. The protest will continue till the acceptance of their demands. He said that all public sector hospitals would be shut down in protest after the end of ultimatum period if government fails to fulfill earlier promises.

Kelari also announced that the elections at YNA Sindh would be held in December 15, 2018 and a new provincial cabinet would be elected.
