Sindh initiates a door-to-door vaccination drive in Karachi

KARACHI: The Health Department of Sindh started a door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination drive in Jamshed Town that latterly reported a suspected case of Omicron variant.

The area is not under lockdown, officials confirmed.

Atif Vighio, spokesperson of Health Department, Sindh, stated decision for lockdown would be taken after the PCR test of 51 residents of Jamshed Town.

He further stated that the department was focusing on community counselling on vaccination of COVID-19 and compliance to the standard operating procedure (SOPs) due to enormous cases of unvaccinated individuals in the locality.

He asserted, “We are telling them why it’s important to get vaccinated and ensuring complete adherence to SOPs. There is no involvement of any law enforcement agency right now,”

He informed that the department had collected double samples of each individual to curtail the probabilities of false-negative cases of COVID-19.
