Disappointed By Slow Rate Of Vaccine Administration: DC Kashmore-Kandhkot

LARKANA: Kandhkoy Munawar Ali Mithani, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kashmore, reviewed the progress on achieving the corona vaccines administered in the district during a recent meeting held at the DC Office.

The meeting was attended by various Assistant Commissioners (AC), Dr Ijaz Ahmed Soomro, District Health Officer for Kashmore-Kandhkot, Imdad Ali Leghari, Regional Director of the People's Primary Healthcare Initiative, Sindh (PPHI), Asif Nazir Ahmed Kalwar, District Manager (DM) of the PHHI, Mukhtiarkars (Tehsildars) and other concerned officials.

The DC expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress towards the COVID-19 vaccine target and urged the DHO Kashmore-Kandhkot and Taluka Health Officers (THO) of the District to achieve the target daily. No negligence will be tolerated in this regard, he warned.

He directed the Assistant Commissioners and Tehsildars to ensure that no facility should be given to those with a COVID-19 Immunization Certificate. Violators' hotels and petrol pumps would be sealed and dealt with severely.

Owners of hotels, bakeries, wedding halls and petrol pumps would be required to vaccinate their employees against COVID-19.

The DC directed the officers of the education department to check for vaccination proof from students of public and private schools and their parents. He insisted that vaccination records be maintained daily and uploaded to all data systems so that no problems arose.

He instructed the DHO to organize awareness seminars in educational institutions with political and social organizations to educate the public about vaccination so that more people could be part of the corona vaccination.

Meanwhile, he inaugurated the Basic Health Unit (BHU) set up by the PPHI at Ghulam Sarwar Sarki of Tangwani Taluka.

"A modern type of basic health unit is being set up in this village of Tangwanim in which a Lady Medical Officer (LMO), Lady Health Visitors (LHV), medicines and resources alongside a Labour Room facility will be provided to the residents of the area." Said Mr Asif.
