Dengue fever claims another life in Karachi

KARACHI: According to the Vector-Borne Diseases (VBD) Department of Directorate General Health Services Sindh, a District East resident died due to dengue-related complications.

In the past twenty-four hours, at least 118 new dengue cases have been identified in Sindh, 113 of which have surfaced in the Karachi division alone.

From January 1 to September 9, 2022, the Vector-Borne Diseases (VBD) documented 3,428 dengue cases in the province, of which 3,050 were registered in Karachi.

In September, 860 cases of dengue fever were reported, with 843 of them occurring in the Karachi division.

In 2022, there were 1,246 dengue cases reported in Area East, 727 in District Central, 575 in District South, and 175 in the Tharparkar district.
