Quetta police officials assault, arrest 20 doctors

QUETTA: Police apprehended at least 20 doctors when they attempted to protest peacefully in the Red Zone of Quetta. 

The clashes broke out between the police officials manhandled and assaulted the doctors while they were peacefully marching towards the city’s Red Zone. 

The police initiated baton-charging the peaceful protestors and thwarted them from entering the Red Zone, where sit-ins and protests of any kind are forbidden.  

The young doctors and the paramedical staff staged a sit-in on Anscomb Road and chanted slogans in support of their demands. 

Meanwhile, the police had cordoned off Anscomb Road and diverted the traffic to alternative routes. The young doctors had been protesting for the last one and half months.
