1500 Candidates Appear In Nursing Entrance Exam: JSMU

KARACHI: A total of 1500 candidates appeared in the Bachelors of Science in Nursing BSN (Generic) examination for 50 seats at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) on Saturday.

Prof Shahid Rasul, the acting Vice-Chancellor, visited the examination site to evaluate the examination duties, accompanied by Dr Fatima Abid, Director of the Office of Admissions.  

The applications were invited for five self-finance seats and 45 open-merit seats. According to the details, the seats are equally distributed among boys and girls.

‘The test is structured following the latest curriculum alterations.’ said Dr Fatima. The test components comprise Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Vaccination certificates of all appearing candidates were ensured for the examination.

Lecture halls across the University were dedicated to accommodating a large number of applicants. IoN-JSMU offers several undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.

Earlier this week, the admissions office conducted an entrance examination of around 38 candidates for the first cycle of admissions in Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Hospital and Healthcare Management.

The admission process is divided into two cycles to accommodate many applicants, explained Dr Fatima Abid. She added that applications are open for the second cycle of admissions, and the entrance examination is expected in January 2022.
