KARACHI: Appropriate nourishment at the proper time is vital for children's development, health, and overall mental growth. This prepares kids to grow and learn in school and contribute to their society while strengthening their immune systems against sickness. 

According to Unicef, the malnutrition situation in Pakistan is quite dire, with widespread stunting. It applies not just to the number of food children consume but also to the quality of their diet. Inadequate nutrition is one of the primary causes of childhood malnutrition in our culture. In the coming years, this issue must be treated seriously.

In a conversation with Nutritionist Hina Anees, she stated: "The impacts of a poor diet are highly apparent in the current age. Specifically, the absence of nutritious and dependable food supplies contributes to Pakistan's health problems. Children of school age require daily nutrition to accomplish their developmental objectives. 

This can be readily accomplished and improved by introducing tiny amounts of flavoured milk to their lunch breaks. Malnutrition among children will be Pakistan's greatest health worry, and parents should make it their top priority. In the correct quantities, flavoured milk can be considered a healthy source of calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin D to encourage children to drink milk." As it is rich in calcium and vitamins and functions as a catalyst to enhance muscle protein synthesis, milk is a staple food for youngsters. 

Some consider milk the "new sports drink" since it replenishes energy and revitalizes you for what lies ahead. However, youngsters typically loathe the bland and harsh flavour and avoid it. Flavoured milk can address this issue and entice toddlers to consume it. Moreover, tetra-packaged sources are significantly safer for children at this time, as the milk accessible in stores may be contaminated with pathogens and bacteria due to flooding.
