67 ghost employees detected in KMC’s major hospitals

KARACHI- Sixty-seven ghost employees have been detected in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) two major hospitals – Sarfraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital and Sobhraj Maternity Hospital.

Of the total 67 ghost employees, 42 have been reportedly detected in Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital and the remaining 25 employees belonged to Sobhraj Maternity Hospital.

They were identified as ghost employees during physical verification of employees of KMC hospitals currently under way on the directives of Sindh Local Government Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

Besides, 30 more employees of Sarfraz Rafiqui Hospital, who are reportedly working on deputation in other hospitals and dispensaries of KMC, have been asked by KMC health department to serve in their parent hospital/department, or else strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.

Sources said that in addition to 25 ghost employees of Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, 27 more employees of the hospital were found doing two jobs in various departments of KMC.
Physical verification of 216 employees of Sobhrja Maternity Hospital has already been conducted, the sources added.

All such employees were directed to appear before KMC Medical & Health Services’ senior director.
