207 more dengue cases emerge in a week

KARACHI: The Vector-Borne Diseases Department of the Directorate General Health Services Sindh has registered 223 dengue fever cases across the Sindh province in a week, out of which 207 were recorded in Karachi and 16 in other districts of the province.

The VBD has registered 2,826 dengue cases all over the Sindh province since the start of the year in Sindh, out of which 2669 surfaced in Karachi and 157 in other districts of the province so far.

In Karachi, District East topped the list with 192 dengue cases in November, followed by District South with 149 cases and District Central cases in 86. The turnout of dengue cases was low in District Korangi, District Malir, and District West, respectively.

A death due to dengue fever was also reported in Karachi this year so far.

Vector control activities have continued in high-risk Union Councils of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Saddar, Defence, and Gulberg areas of the city.
