Despite health reforms, doctors in Sindh ripped newborn's head, filmed patient

KARACHI: Doctors at a private hospital in Tharparkar, Sindh, cut off a newborn baby's head while it was still in the womb and left it inside the mother.

Horrible Incident in Sindh's Hospital

The district health officer says that the event took place at a private hospital in Chachro tehsil, Tharparkar.

Officials from the Sindh Health Department say that the unborn baby's head was cut off and left inside the mother. Officials further stated that the woman was then taken to the Mithi Civil Hospital, but she was unable to be treated there.

She was then taken to the Civil Hospital in Hyderabad, where the rest of the baby's body was removed. This saved her life.

In response to this terrible mistake, Dr. Juman Bahoto, who is the director-general of Sindh Health Services, asked for official investigations into the matter.

He said that the investigation committees would figure out what happened, especially why the Chachro RHC didn't have a gynaecologist or any women working there.

The investigation teams will also look into claims that the woman was traumatised by being filmed while she was on a stretcher.
