21 more dengue cases detected in Karachi

KARACHI - At least 21 more dengue viral cases were detected during last one weak in Karachi, taking the number of patients affected with the disease to 71 since Jan 1, 2016. According to weekly report of Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Programme, in all 23 new dengue fever cases were detected in Sindh (from March 04 to 10, 2016) and they include 21 from Karachi and one each from Sukkur and Thatta.

Giving break-up of the total 284 dengue fever cases reported in Sindh since Jan 1, 2016, officials said that 271 were reported from Karachi, five from Hyderabad, two from Sukkur, and one each from Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Thatta,  Shikarpur and Shaheed Benazirbad.

However, the disease has not claimed any life, so far, during the current year, the sources added.
