KARACHI:  As many as 300 deserving patients were examined by highly-qualified and experienced doctors and provided free medicines for their orthopedic issues at the 19th free medical and orthopedic health check-up camp recently organised by the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association (POA) at AKAR Hospital, Karachi.
The camp held under the supervision of POA Press and Media Committee Chairman Prof Aslam Siddiqui  aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among the people, and provide them free checkup and medicines and advice. 
A team comprising highly-experienced consultants, including Prof Syed Shahid Noor, Dr Asif Paracha, Prof Badaruddin Sahito, Prof Dileep Kumar, Dr Noman Rajput, Dr Zeeshan Faisal, Dr Faizan Iqbal, Dr Anwar, Dr Arsalan Ghazi, Dr Salman Adil and others attended the patients at the camp.
The camp offered a range of medical facilities, including BMD, X-rays, free medicine and laboratory services to the visiting patients suffering from various orthopedic issues, including bone fractures, joint pain and other musculoskeletal problems. 
The patients were thoroughly examined by consultants who diagnosed their issues and prescribed treatment according to their individual needs. They were also given free medicines.
The consultants also took time to educate the patients on preventive measures and lifestyle changes that could help in managing their orthopedic issues.
The success of the camp can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the organising committee, the consultants, and the hospital staff. 
The event received positive feedback from both the patients and the consultants, with many expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to receive free medical care.
Overall, the POA camp was an excellent opportunity for the underprivileged patients to receive advice from highly-qualified consultants, besides free medication. 
The people of visiting the camp termed it a meaningful initiative by the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association.
The event demonstrated the POA’s commitment to improving the lives of people through accessible and affordable medical care.
In an exclusive talk with Medical News, Dr Aslam said the purpose of the camp was to provided free medical checkup to the deserving patients and create awareness about health issues among the masses. 
He says the POA conducts six free medical camps every year where medicines are also provided to the patients free of cost.
“POA also conducted free medical camps in other areas to provide all possible health facilities to locals, who are also educated on various health issues to create awareness among them, which is a commendable effort to serve humanity,” says Dr Aslam.
