Increasing dengue cases surface in Islamabad, Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital reported 96 new dengue cases in the last 24 hours, while its twin city Rawalpindi reported 98.

According to data released by the District Health Officer (DHO) of Islamabad, the federal capital reported 96 dengue cases in the last 24 hours, including 53 from rural and 43 from urban areas.

With the addition of these additional cases, the overall number of dengue cases in Islamabad has risen to 1657, and five people have died as a result of the virus, the DHO noted.

In addition, Rawalpindi recorded 98 instances of dengue in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases reported in the city this year to 1,561. According to the Health Department, two other patients at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital are in critical condition. Dengue has claimed the lives of two individuals in Rawalpindi this season.
