Central office bearers of PIMA appointed   

KARACHI: The appointment of Central office bearers of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has been completed for the session 2022-24. 

Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Iftikhar Burney has been appointed as General Secretary, Consultant Pathologist Dr Muhammad Qasim as Vice President and Consultant Pediatrics Dr Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab Memon as Joint Secretary. 

The nominations took place in the two-day Central Executive Council meeting of PIMA in Islamabad recently. The meeting was presided over by the newly elected PIMA President Dr Abdul Aziz Memon. Directors of various departments of PIMA were also appointed and a working plan was made for the next two years. 

On this occasion, Prof Atif Hafeez Siddiqui was appointed in charge of Medical Education/Research/PIMA Journal; Dr Muhammad Afzal Mian in charge PIMA Relief; Prof Najeebul Haq in charge Medicine and Islamic Fiqh; Dr Abdul Aziz Zia in charge of Continuous Islamic Education; Dr Abdullah Muttaqi in charge Doctors Advocacy; Dr Kamran Hassan in charge Associate Members; Dr Tariq Ismail in charge Organization and Membership; Dr Muhammad Ashraf in charge Finances; Dr Muhammad Saleem Ghouri in charge Media Cell; Dr Maqbool Ahmed Shahid in charge PIMA Publications; Dr Misbahul Aziz in charge Prevention of Blindness/FIMA Save Vision, Dr Usman Zafar in charge Islamic Hospital Consortium, Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Khan in charge International Affairs/FIMA and Dr Ubaidullah was appointed in charge Dentistry. 

The Central President Dr Abdul Aziz Memon nominated Dr Muhammad Shakeel from Lahore and Dr Ahmed Khalil from Multan as members of the Central Executive Council as well.
