Love marriage quarrel: Girl's father assaults family of boy

KARACHI: Hoping to marry became a nightmare for a couple in Karachi after their families clashed and the girl's father chopped off a finger of the boy's father during the altercation.

According to Suhai Aziz, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), District West, Karachi, the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. in Orangi Town's Gulshan-e-Zia neighbourhood, which is within the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazar Police Station.

According to the authorities, the boy's father stated that a girl named Nabila resided in his neighbourhood and was a classmate of his son.

Nabila developed feelings for the victim's son and expressed a desire to marry him. The victim told the police that the girl visited their home and spoke with his wife, pleading with them to marry the couple.

According to the victim, he explained to the girl that because his son was unemployed, they were unable to marry him at the moment.

Meanwhile, Nadeem, the girl's father, arrived at the victim's residence with his brother Aleem and started beating the victim and his family. The victim claimed that the two brothers grabbed his wife by the hair and dragged her, tearing her clothing in the attempt.

According to the authorities, when the victim attempted to save his wife and son, Nadeem chopped off the victim's finger.

According to the police, the injured was treated at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. A medico-legal report was filed, following which police filed a first information report (FIR) and apprehended both Nadeem and Aleem.
