Sindh govt sets up free health camps to support flood victims

KARACHI: Medical and health camps have been set up with the help of the Government of Sindh and the Sindh Health Department.

All DHOs and DCs have coordinated their efforts to bring relief and medical assistance to the people affected by the monsoon flooding.

These camps are fixed and mobile, with many of them utilising school buildings, and the mobile health camps can reach areas where communities are cut off due to floods. The health camps provide essential medicine, vaccines, ob-gyn services, dengue, diarrhoea, gastro and cholera treatments, nutrition supplements and fogging and fumigation services to prevent mosquito and vector-borne diseases.

Doctors and paramedics have been mobilised to attend to the displaced persons at these health camps, and coordinated efforts by DHOs and DCs around Sindh ensure constant updates on the requirements and relief provided in each region.

Despite the flooding, the Sindh Health Department aims to ensure that the inoculations and vaccine administration are carried out simultaneously.
