SHCC grants Memon Medical Institute Hospital regular license

KARACHI: Sindh Healthcare Commission(SHCC) has issued a regular license to Memon Medical Institute Hospital (MMI Hospital) following a rigorous review and inspection procedure.

MMI Hospital is the only non-profit tertiary care hospital in the province of Sindh to earn this license - a significant tribute to the quality of treatment delivered by the hospital.

At the ceremony, Dr Ahson Qavi Siddiqi, Chief Executive Officer, Sindh Healthcare Commission, decided to share that this license is based on several robust service quality standards, including but not limited to the rights of the patients, safety and protection, patient care and safety, quality assurance, patient compliant management and other contributing components.

The hospital partnered with SHCC from the beginning and is among the first few healthcare institutions in the province of Sindh that have been issued a normal license.

The hospital follows worldwide quality criteria and evidence-based clinical practices covering patient care, safety, and all other elements of healthcare delivery.

Muhammad Ajaz Saya, Honourary Chairman, Memon Health & Education Foundation, stated that MMI Hospital, which is the flagship project of Memon Health & Education Foundation, was commissioned in 2010 with the the only goal of providing quality healthcare to the masses and communities at affordable costs with empathy, dignity, and respect, regardless of caste, creed, colour, religion or ability to afford.

The hospital has been assisted in its mission by the goodwill of various well-wishers via their gifts and financial assistance. The hospital has gone a long way in the previous decade and, in its next growth phase, is expanding to a 550-bed non-profit tertiary care academic medical facility of international acclaim.

Brig Dr Malik Waqar Ahmad Awan TI (M) Retd, Chief Executive Officer, MMI Hospital, shared his vision for the hospital and expressed his sincere gratitude to SHCC for guidance and support to the hospital during the entire accreditation process and for issuance the regular license.

The event was also attended by Abdul Razak Diwan, Former Honorary Chairman, Memon Health & Education Foundation, Trustees and the leading physicians from various specializations of the hospital.
