JSMU hosts its first pharma career fair for talented IPS students 

KARACHI: The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (IPS-JSMU) hosted its first Pharma Career Fair 2022, during which the country's most renowned pharmaceutical companies conducted interviews with the students, offered jobs and internships to the successful candidates, and provided career counseling. 

 Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Amjad Siraj Memon and Registrar Dr Azam Khan of Jinnah Sindh Medical University attended the career fair, and Dr Memon remarked that the event would be very beneficial in bridging the gap between the university's graduating students and the industry. "The participation of the country's most renowned pharmaceutical companies in the career fair at Jinnah Sindh Medical University demonstrates that the students here are talented and could be ideal candidates for positions in the pharmaceutical industry," he added.  

Prof Huma Ali, the Principal of IPS, visited the career fair and, while reviewing the arrangements, noted that a very significant event was organized by Prof Kiran Rafiq and team, in an effort to provide valuable and varied opportunities to the students. She sincerely hoped that this career fair will facilitate strong connections between academia and industry. Atif Iqbal, Managing Director of High Q Pharma, and Dr Asad Abbas, Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Vector and Jasper Healthcare, inaugurated the first Pharma Career Fair and emphasized the significance of organizing future events of a similar nature.  

Further to that, Prof Kiran Rafique, the career fair's organiser and the key person behind this event, thanked all the stakeholders and valued partners who contributed to the career fair's success.  

The organizers also included Dr Shahla Imam, Associate Professor, Dr. Ahsan Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Dr Anas Hanif, Dr Sulaiman, Dr Hasan Ahmed, and Dr Ahad Memon.  

The university's initiative to host such a valuable and helpful career fair was well-received by the university community.
