3,596 dengue cases reported in Karachi during 2015

Karachi: As many as 3,692 dengue fever cases were reported across the Sindh in 2015, while the dreadful disease claimed 11 lives in Karachi the same year.

Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Programme’s annual report said that of the total 3,692 dengue cases detected from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2015 across the province, 3,596 cases were reported from Karachi alone.

Giving break-up of the dengue cases reported during 2015, the report said 40 cases were reported from Hyderabad, nine from Larkana, eight from Mirpurkhas, seven from Umerkot, six from Jamshoro, four from Shaheed Benazirabad, three each from Thatta, Sukkur, Ghotki and Sanghar, two each from Matiari, Badin and Tharparkar and one each from  Dadu, Shikarpur, Jaccobabad and Naushahro Feroze.
