37 new coronavirus cases surface in Karachi within 24 hrs

KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has confirmed 37 more coronavirus cases in the Sindh province in the last 24 hours, taking the reported case toll to 245 in the province.

Media Coordinator to the Health Minister, Meeran Yousuf, noted that a total of 245 coronavirus cases had been detected throughout the Sindh province since 26 February, out of which 151 are from Taftan, 93 are from Karachi, and one is from Hyderabad.

She further informed that three people had been discharged while 242 are still under treatment.

No coronavirus-related death has been reported from the province as yet.

A total of 443 coronavirus cases have been reported in Pakistan so far out of which 245 are in Sindh, 78 are in Punjab, 76 are in Baluchistan, 23 are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 13 in are Gilgit-Baltistan, seven are in Islamabad, and one in Azad Jammu Kashmir, as per the latest official figures.

The coronavirus has claimed two lives in Pakistan so far, and both were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Globally, the coronavirus has infected more than 227,764 and killed more than 9308 people. More than 85,985 have recovered across the world to date.
