KARACHI - Sindh government’s ambassador for polio, Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, has vowed to help provide more medical facilities for the residents of Lyari.

Ms Bhutto-Zardari, who visited Lyari General Hospital (LGH) to inquire about health facilities available to patients, also pledged to set up a patients’ welfare society at the hospital for the poor patients.

During her visit to different wards, she mingled with the patients, inquired after their health and treatment being provided to them by doctors of the hospital.

On this occasion, she also exchanged the usual pleasantries with patients and their attendants.

She noted with concern that most of the children admitted there were the victims of malnutrition.

The hospital’s management on this occasion informed her about the problems being faced by the health facility and its requirements.

Earlier, she also met some attendants of the patients who were waiting outside the hospital and gave them a patient hearing.
