Islamabad- The Ministry of National Health Service has barred the PMDC delegation from travelling to UK on public expense.

A PMDC delegation comprised of four candidates was to visit the Queen Mary University London, out of which two delegates were to travel on expenses borne by the council. After learning of this plan, the NHS Ministry took immediate actions to stop the visit. The decision was disclosed to the PMDC management, along with the reason, in a letter that is available with a local newspaper.

“It is understood that the University of Queen Mary London is providing funds for two members of the delegation, and for the remaining two, PMDC is providing funds to visit UK. In view of the austerity drive, it has been decided that no visit shall be undertaken at public expense,” states the letter addressed to PMDC President.

The ministry allowed the visit only for those delegates whose expenses were being covered by sponsors.

An NHS insider, while talking to a newspaper, said, “The matter was brought to the knowledge of NHS Minister Aamer Mehmood Kiani, who directed the official concerned to get the visit stopped, which was happening at the public’s expense. Hence, the PMDC delegation visit was stopped”.
