Body formed to tackle naegleria fowleri issue

KARACHI- Getting perturbed over two recent deaths due to brain-eating naegleria fowleri, Sindh health department has set up a joint action committee for taking measures aimed at eradicating the disease from the city.

Joint Action Committee has also been assigned the task of ensuring proper chlorination of water being supplied to Karachiites.

Members of the committee include deputy secretary (Health), Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s chief engineer and representatives of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s food & quality control department and the office of Executive District Officer Health.
  
The Joint Action Committee has been asked to evolve a coordinated strategy to deal with the issue on war-footing basis.
