KARACHI-  Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar visited Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and met Prof. Dr. Adib Rizvi, Founder of SIUT.

Welcoming the worthy guest, Dr. Rizvi apprised the Chief Justice about the concept, evolution and services of SIUT and particularly highlighted the philosophy being implemented by SIUT since its inception which is “Every human being has a birth right to access free education & health care with dignity”.

Dr. Rizvi discussed regarding the pathetic and deplorable business of illegal selling and buying of organs which is growing at an alarming rate. He further added that it was laudable of the APEX court that they took notice of this grave matter and appreciated their efforts.

The CJP while speaking on the occasion, highly complimented the tremendous services being provided by SIUT for the population at large, absolutely free of cost, without any discrimination. He further added that he was already an avid admirer of SIUT and Prof. Dr. Adib Rizvi.

Justice Nisar lamented and deplored the malicious and notorious crime of organ trading in the country.

In a very noble and humane gesture to support and encourage deceased organ donation in Pakistan, the CJP voluntarily announced altruistic donation of all his organs posthumously and also extended his maximum and whole hearted support in this life saving cause.

Later, Prof. Dr. Adib Rizvi and his team gave the CJP a tour of their institute and facilities.
