Larkana- The sudden rise in HIV positive cases in Larkana, especially among children, had everyone dumbfounded. It is a crisis.

Only recently, the police was able to arrest the doctor suspected to be responsible for the spread of the HIV in Larkana’s Ratodero district.

Dr Muzaffar Ghanghar, who is a public hospital employee, is an HIV patient himself, the police revealed.

The number of HIV-positive cases rose to 39 as panic gripped the district and authorities tried to ascertain the causes behind the spread of the virus among the residents.

Dr Muzaffar Ghanghar claimed that this case was a mere "conspiracy" against him. He said, "The Sindh Healthcare Commission is conspiring against me. If I had known about HIV/AIDS then I would have sought treatment. I did not experience any pain.”

In-charge of the Aids Control Programme in Sindh, Dr Sikander Memon has said that a team would visit Ratodero next week to determine the causes behind the transmission of the HIV among the residents.
