CHK bans entry of visitors in the hospital without a mask

KARACHI: The Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has banned visitors' entry without a mask on the premises of the hospital. The staff has also been strictly instructed to implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Additional Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Ismail Memon, informed that a comprehensive public awareness drive had been launched in the institution's premises to counter the second wave of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

He further informed that about 50 public awareness banners were also placed in different wards, the OPD and administration block, masjid, nursing institute, and other places to educate the public.

Dr Memon said no visitors would be allowed without wearing a mask in the hospital in all three shifts while only one attendant can stay with the admitted patient. He said that doctors, paramedical staff, nurses, and other staff members have also been strictly directed to ensure the implementation of SOPs in the hospital.

He said public awareness messages about COVID-19 are also being announced through speakers during rush hours to implement SOPs. He urged the citizens to ensure implementation of the Sindh Health Department's guidelines during the visits to hospitals, markets, and other public places.
