CHK registered 200 COVID-19 deaths in six months

KARACHI: The Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has registered 5,032 coronavirus cases from 1st March to 31st August, out of which 1432 patients got admitted to the COVID-19 wards while 200 died during treatment.

As per the statistics issued by the CHK’s administration, a total of 87 COVID-19 positive patients were admitted in the hospital in March, 146 in April, 404 in May, 461 in June, 237 in July, and 97 in August.  More than 1200 registered corona patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital during this time.

Similarly, out of 200 deaths, two died in April, 46 in May, 84 in June, 47 in July, and 21 in August. The majority of admissions and deaths were reported in May, June, and July, respectively.

The hospital’s management recorded a total of 5,032 COVID-19 positive cases in six months, out of which 82 were registered in March, 545 in April,  1416 in May, 1778 in June, 963 July, and 248 in August.
