Civil Hospital Accountant under Investigation

KARACHI- The Health Department of Sindh recently formed an enquiry committee to investigate the allegations made against Mukhtiar Ahmed Qureshi, Accountant Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), over misappropriation of hospital budget and funds.
According to an official notification, the three-member enquiry committee comprises of Mr Muhammad Younus, Section Officer (PM-1), Mr Irfan Arain, Section Officer Budget and Mr Arshad Khokhar, Deputy Secretary Health Department for budget, who will be chairing the committee.
These assigned officers will probe the matter of alleged embezzlement in funds for different departments, including P.O.L charges, purchase of drugs, machinery and furniture repairmen, and M&R for the year 2017-18, 2018-19.
A thorough investigation will be carried out to reach an explicit conclusion; and the report will be submitted to the Health Department within the next 15 days.
