CM approves Rs1100m for NICVD

KARACHI- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved Rs1100 million for bringing improvement in the city’s National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD).

Presiding over a meeting of NICVD Board here at CM House, he said keeping in view the growing population pressure there is need to increase the number of wards and beds, besides additional staff such as senior and junior doctors, paramedical staff and administrative staff members.

NICVD’s executive director Dr Nadeem Qamar said the hospital requires at least six medical and three surgical wards, each having 100-bed.

He also told CM: “We also want to establish Vascular Surgery Department,” he added.

Dr Qamar also proposed increase in salary of the Postgraduate (PGs) which was approved.
The chief minister also approved internal audit of the NICVD by an independent auditor.
