Congo Fever patients admitted to JPMC

Karachi: Two more people suffering from Congo Crimean Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) were admitted in the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center bringing the total of identified CCHF patients, to 8.

The Joint Executive Director & In-charge Emergency Department, Dr Seemin Jamali confirmed that two patients with Congo fever were admitted in the hospital and condition of one of the patient was critical.

She said 65-year old Feroz Aebho resident of Korangi was shifted in hospital from Indus Hospital, with high-fever and bleeding. She said condition of patient is critical. She said similarly another patient Aslam, 42, resident of Bilal Colony was brought in emergency department of the hospital and patient was shifted to isolation ward due to symptoms of Congo fever.

According to the health officials; six people expired from Congo fever in 2014, while 19 patients have been reported from different areas of city so far.
