COVID-19 claims 108 doctor lives in Pakistan

KARACHI: At least 132 healthcare professionals have succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) across Pakistan, out of which 108 were doctors, and 24 were other medical staff.

Central Leader of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA-Centre) told that 132 healthcare workers had lost their lives in the line of duty due to the viral disease to date, out of which 108 were doctors and 24 were others.

The PMA further reported that COVID-19 has claimed 49 doctors lives in Punjab, 34 in Sindh, 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 in Balochistan, and one each in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

The statistics said nine paramedical staff members, six nurses, three pharmacists, a supervisor class IV, head waiter, ambulance driver, accountant, and two others have died of COVID-19 so far in the country.
