ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has decided to start degree verification. The facility will be offered at the HEC Karachi Regional Centre.
According to sources at the HEC, the center is likely function from mid of August. The HEC attests, verifies and issues equivalence certificates from Universities in Pakistan and abroad. Although the degree attestation facilities are being provided at the Peshawar and Lahore centers, people from Sindh still had to send their documents to Islamabad for verifications. There was news about Karachi Center but it was being delayed due to unknown reasons. The officials have been trained who will be deputed in Karachi center soon.
The people of Sindh will have a sigh of relief as it was an uphill task to get their documents attested quickly . Suleman Ahmad has been appointed as the Regional Director In-charge Sindh. He will be responsible for spearheading the operations of the new facility. HEC is planning to open more verification centers, the next on the cards is Baluchistan.
