KARACHI: Dengue viral fever has claimed first life in Sindh province while 36 more dengue cases detected in the province in a week, said by Program Manager, Prevention &Control Program for Dengue in Sindh Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi.

Dr Solangi while talking said Sindh’s first death from dengue fever was reported from private hospital of Karachi. He informed that a 30-year old  Wazeer Ahmed, resident of Dorr, District Nawab shah. He was brought in hospital with fever on 23 May 2016 and died due to dengue on 26 May 2016. He said case was reported to programme management on 02 June 2016.

He said as many as 36 more dengue viral fever cases have been detected in Sindh province in a week, out of which 33 were reported from Karachi, taking the number of dengue patients to 658 in the province out of which 607 were from Karachi since January 2016.
