DHA & SKMT ink MoU Karachi to have modern cancer hospital

Karachi: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Turst (SKMT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday to establish a cancer hospital in Karachi.

Under the MoU, the DHA City Karachi (DCK) will provide land to SKMT for establishing a cancer hospital in the port city.

Speaking on the occasion, DHA Karachi administrator Brig Zubair Ahmed said that establishment of a cancer hospital in DHA City Karachi is indeed a gift to the people of the metropolis and a great service to the humanity. He said that the state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility is reflection of the trust of people in the institution and the DHA administration.

SKMT chief executive officer Dr Faisal Sultan said that the cancer hospital being established at DCK will be the most advanced and modern cancer treatment facility that will have the biggest oncology centre in the country and state-of-the-art chemotherapy and radiation treatment centres.

“The location of cancer hospital at DCK is best suited for the needy people from both the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan,” he added.

Participants of the ceremony appreciated the establishment of the cancer hospital at DHA City Karachi and termed it `a milestone for cure of cancer patients’.
