Doctors slam Lahore park tragedy

KARACHI - Doctors and members of the civil society organized a candlelight ceremony at Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) to express their solidarity with bereaved families of the victims of Lahore park bomb blast.

The ceremony held at CHK’s Surgical Unit- III was attended by Prof Junaid Asharf, Prof Amjid Siraj, Prof Saeed Qureshi, CHK’s medical superintendent Dr Jameel Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr Bilal, Dr Abdul Qadir Siddiqui, Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Memon, Dr Asad Awan, prominent singer Shehzad Roy, Akhlaq Ahmed Khan, Salamti Khokhar and members of the civil society.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehzad Roy said that people of Pakistan are brave and they will get rid of the menace of terrorism shortly.

Terming the Lahore park’s suicidal attack `an act of barbarism’, Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Memon of Sindh Doctors’ Welfare Association (SDWA) said that candlelight ceremony was organized to express solidarity with family members of all those who became victim of the tragedy.

Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association’s central president Akhlaq Ahmed Khan strongly condemned perpetrators of the gory incident, saying that terrorists will not succeed in their nefarious designs by indulging in such acts of cowardice.
