Employees of JPMC, NICH call off strike

KARACHI- The lingering issue of health professional allowance pertaining to employees of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) & National Institute of Child Health (NICH) will be resolved soon.

This was stated by the JPMC and NICH Joint Action Committee’s (JAC) media coordinator, Ameer Hussain Shah, at a press conference held at Karachi Press Club. The JAC’s executive members - Gul Saeed Khan, Abdul Wahid, Murtaza Haidery, Faisal Chaudhry, Qadeer and Ismail Jasqani - were also present on this occasion.
  
According to the media coordinator, Joint Action Committee’s negotiations over the issue with the officials of health department officials were successful. Besides, a summary concerning the health professional allowance had already been signed by the provincial secretary finance and the same has been moved by the provincial chief secretary to the law department for its perusal.

He said that Joint Action Committee had called off its strike following officials of health department sought some time for getting the summary approved from the competent authorities.

He, however, warned that employees will resume their protest demonstration if the summary was not approved by June 20, he added.
