Fundraiser at IVS

Karachi- The Child Aid Association (CAA), National Institute of Child Health, Karachi, has organized fund raising event in Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture at Clifton Karachi for children, suffering from cancer disease.

A large number of doctors, philanthropists, politicians, donors, journalists students and dignitaries attended the fund raising event. Commissioner Karachi Syed Asif Hyder Shah also attended the event.

The Child Aid Association is voluntary organization, established the first Pediatric Oncology Unit in Pakistan in 1999, at NICH, where thousands of children had been provided state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities to  under privileged children coming from all parts of Pakistan as well as neighboring countries of Iran and Afghanistan. Out of thousands, that received treatment during this period majority have returned to normal life.

Siddique Shaikh of Hilton Pharma, while addressing the event, said treatment of cancer patients is painful and very expensive procedure therefore such patients and their parents need special support.

He appreciated the role of CAA in providing treatment and diagnostic facilities to cancer patients.

President, Child Aid Association, Prof Nizamul Hasan, said organization is severing the poor sick children of the country at National Institute of Child Health from last several years. “There have been various ups and downs, faced by voluntary organization like lack of funds, non-availability of trained staff and others but these hardships were overcome by our team members.

He said association performs this service on donation received from individuals and organizations but due to repaid increase in the number of patients more funds are required.
