IIDC attends Research & Advocacy Conference 2015

ISLAMABAD - The Research and Advocacy Fund (RAF), in collaboration with The British Council and Australian Aid, conducted a 2-day conference the other day at Islamabad. The conference presented the latest statistics on Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) giving a brief overview of the various initiatives regarding MNH.

Islamic International Dental College (IIDC)’s Faculty of Community Dentistry, along with several students, attended the conference. The faculty members are planning to conduct a research so as to study the relationship of Periodontal Disease and Diabetes during pregnancy (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus) and the conference thus proves to be very helpful in guiding them in the right direction.

The third year BDS students, who also attended the conference, found the various sessions very informative learning that employing midwives and counseling are both very important in providing care to women in rural areas.
