Inauguration of PULMO-CLUB Karachi

Karachi: The inaugural session of PULMO-CLUB KARACHI was held at a local Hotel on the 19th of October. The same club has been functioning in Islamabad, Peshawar, and Lahore, and offers a platform for chest physicians to discuss the problem cases and social contacts among them.

Prof. Sohail Akhter, from Ziauddin University, briefed about the aims and objectives of this club. He also presented a case of TB with Psoriasis. Prof. Javaid A Khan of Aga Khan University presented a case of Hijab Pin as foreign body in Trachea, and a case of Wegner’s Granulomatosis.

Prof. Zafar Ahmad from Liaquat National Hospital discussed a case Sarcoidosis. Dr. Ali from LNH discussed a case of Tb with recurring cold abscess during treatment. Dr. Zafaryab Hussain, Assistant Prof. Pulmonology Baqai University Hospital, discussed a case of natural healing in TB.
Dr. Zaki Ahmed, Dr. Asif Naseem, and Dr. Nisar Rao, also discussed their cases.

Dr. Shaheena Qayum, Dr. Nausheen, Dr. Abu Bakar Warind, and Dr Saifullah Beg were also present at the occasion.  

Dr. Dawood Khaliq from Macter Pharma recited few versus from Holy Quran, and Mr. Mujeeb Ali Khan, Commercial Director at the same company, presented a vote of thanks vowing to continue full support to the activities of PULMO-CLUB. The next meeting will be on 21st, December, 2014.
