Japanese “The Order of the Rising Sun” badge awarded to Mrs. Sadia Rashid

Karachi: The Faculty of Pharmacy at Hamdard University, Karachi, organized an event in honor of the Chancellor of Hamdard University and the President of the Hamdard Foundation, Mrs. Sadia Rashid.

The Government of Japan in the Japanese Consulate of Pakistan awarded Mrs. Rashid with the “The Order of the Rising Sun” (gold rays with neck ribbon) badge. While receiving the award, Mrs. Rashid reminisced about her past experiences recalling the values of her late father and the founding chancellor of Hamdard University. In her speech, she spoke about her father's views on discipline and punctuality. She advised students to adopt the same values her father instilled in her so that they may also progress in life.

Three additional undertakings marked this auspicious occasion.

Firstly, there was the launch of the first ever graduate directory of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Hamdard University, Karachi.

This was followed by the signing of an MOU between the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Karachi, and Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy at Hamdard University, Karachi.

Notable personalities present at the occasion included Prof. Dr Iqbal Azhar, Prof. Dr Nosheen, and Prof. Dr Fayaz Waid from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Karachi.

In his address, Prof Dr Iqbal Azhar highlighted the importance of research.

In the final stage of the event, a recruitment drive was conducted by the different national and international pharmaceutical companies present at the event. High Q Pharma played the role of the event’s premium sponsor.

In other speeches, Registrar, Hamdard University, Pervaiz Memon, Associate Dean FOP, Prof. Dr Shamim Akhtar, student advisor, Dr Sheikh Abdul Khaliq, and other guest speakers spoke about the importance of hard work and determination in one’s day-to-day life.

The representatives of the PharmaEvo announced three gold medals for the best and outstanding graduates of Faculty of Pharmacy, Hamdard University, Karachi.
